Jason + Michelle “Shelly” Cunningham

It all started with the cost to replace one stove knob. The thing is you can’t - you have to buy four. So, Jason, being creatively minded, technically savvy, not a fan of Whirlpool, and knowing nothing about 3D printing decided he’d give it a shot. That was printer #1.

There’s still some confusion as to who (me) thought to print babydoll heads - but, either way (I did), it seems to have taken on a life of its own. that’s when printer #2 arrived.

Now, Jason designs and prints an ever-growing lineup of desktop planters in all kinds of shapes—baby doll heads, skulls, cats, crows, unicorn floaties, frogs—whatever feels fun and maybe a little macabre. Next, I style each one, making sure no two are ever alike, adding a barrage of artificial succulents and tiny foliage fascinators with pops of color, textures, and a sense of relief these don’t need water. Printers #3 & #4 have arrived by this point.

What started as a coffee table hobby, and a handful of planters, has grown into something entirely different—tiny pieces of art—and something we love doing. We kept that first, (and only) stove knob prototype as a reminder of how far we’ve come—and how it all started with just one small, weird idea.
